A Parisian in Old Town

I saw this lovely lady on my way home from work. Everyone seemed to look beautiful today (maybe a warm weather effect?), but she was so striking that I actually did a double take. Something about her crisp dress made her stand out among all the flesh-baring ensembles other women were wearing. I wish I had the guts to tell her how great she looked!

Day 30!

I’m starting a new job tomorrow, so naturally I am a little nervous. Travis has learned to let me fret over the stupid little things and get them out of my system.

While we’re on the topic of New Job, this seems a good time to bring up that I’ll be on hiatus while I get myself used to the 40 hour/week work schedule. I would guess that I’ll be back to daily comics in April.

As much as I love daily comics, it will be nice to get a break! :)

Excuses

I have absolutely no energy for a comic today, so here is my pre-emptive day off that should be saved for after I finish this round of “30 Days of Comics.” Agh. I spent every waking moment working or oscillating between euphoric “I’ve got my shit together” highs and crushing “I am such a failure why do I even bother” lows.

To make up for it, I’ll let you know that last night I had a dream in which I met Jimi Hendrix and took my picture with him, saying that “I’ll find it in the future.” I woke up legitimately considering rummaging through my photos in case it appeared.

Day 18

We’ve recently begun the Russian Orthodox preparation for Great Lent (the fast for Easter), and blini are always served at my church for the three Sundays prior to the start of the fast. It’s a favorite in my family and we’ve made them twice in the past three days.

But if you are served blini by a babushka, I don’t recommend eating more than one serving per week. They literally use melted butter as one of the toppings. True story.

Day 17

The best part of my trip this past weekend!

Day 15

I’m back from my lovely weekend out of town but I’m totally zapped of energy. I’ve got a good comic in the works that I’m excited to share with you, but I want it to be done right so it might not be ready for a few days.

In the meantime, contemplate your jellybean eating habits. Consider the inevitable tummy ache after eating “just one”. Ponder the difference between the Berry Blue and Blueberry. And most importantly, pick around all the white ones.

Day 14

Portrait of the artist with mantra.

I’ll be out of town for the next few days (it’s Travis and my 4 year anniversary!) staying in this awesome farm house. So no computer and no comics. My eyes can certainly use a break from the digital strain. I’ll see you back here on Sunday/Monday.

Day 30!

“Oh what’s that? You had a conversation with someone? Let’s spend the rest of the day agonizing over every stupid thing you said when you should have taken an extra second to come up with a more intelligent reply, and then also the times they were probably judging you silently when you fidgeted with your pen. While we’re at it, why not consider the ways that you are a failure compared to others in your field and age range, and then maybe later we can lapse into a fear induced coma that disables you from coping with simple tasks for a while! Yeah that sounds like a good use of my evening.” —brain

Since I managed to get through 30 days of dailies, I’m giving myself a day off from comics to cash in at some point this week tomorrow. But, starting tomorrow Friday, I’ll be doing another 30 days of comics. To up the ante, I have to include color in each one. oOoOoOoHhHhH
