Okay, so technically "Rachel Draws" has been around since... 2008. But I didn't start truly blogging until a year ago. Since then, I've tried to do daily updates! I have not succeeded (so sad) but I've gotten pretty darn close. I'd say 322 posts out of a potential 365 isn't too bad!!
Here is some of the wisdom I've gathered from making comics "everyday" for twelve months.
(This comic does not mention the innumerable Photoshop shortcuts, effects, and
tools that I finally learned how to use properly. As well as all the
pens I now know I love (or hate), the kind of paper I prefer, how to
sketch my stuff in blue pencil, how to draw myself, how to draw Travis,
etc etc etc.)
And lastly, I want to say thank you to all the people who have kept up with my blog, posted comments, and shared my art elsewhere on the internet:
You guys made it all worthwhile, and I get the biggest kick out of knowing people like what I do.
I know I'm pretty green to webcomics (Questionable Content has been around since 2003!!) but this past year has been incredibly fun and rewarding. I'll keep doing this blogging thing for as long as you'll keep reading it!
We're in it for the long-haul miss lady, you've earned it. So long as you keep making awesome artwork, we'll keep gaping at it and wondering what are chances are of marrying you.
Just look at how far Questionable Content has come in nine years, and after one year, you've already improved much more than he had in his first year. So if you keep it up that long, you'll be freaking Picasso or something in 2019.
I agree with both anons.... plus i think you are cute!
Thanks all you anons!! So encouraging. :)
